Caroline was a graduate of Park School, St. Paul's School, and Yale University, where she was the varsity field hockey captain. After college, she became a U.S.Naval intelligence officer and later worked at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston because she loved animals, including her dog, Ada, and cat, Romeow.
