INESE GALANTE

INESE GALANTE (SOPRANO) was born in Riga. The art of singing was highly appreciated in her family. Her mother had a beautiful coloratura and her father possessed a rich bass voice. Inese Galante was going to become a pharmacist, but then she started to sing. Her first teacher was Rachel Shulova.

Inessa Galante (Soprano) - Short Biography

In 1982 Inese Galante graduated from the Latvian Academy of Music (the vocal class of professor Ludmila Braun).

Since 1982 till 1991 she was a soloist of the Latvian National Opera (she debuted as a Gipsy in Smetana’s The Bartered Bride). During this period she appeared as the Snow Maiden, Lucia, Gilda, Marguerite, Adina, Violetta, Rosina, Micaëla, Prilepa (The Queen of Spades), Magda (La Rondine) a.o.
